Last year, bookworms cast more than 3.8 million votes in the only major book awards decided by readers. Starting today, you can pick your favorite titles from 2018 in the 10th Annual Goodreads Choice Awards!

Vote now in the Opening Round! »

How It Works:

Opening Round (October 30 to November 4): Go to the Goodreads Choice Awards page to start voting! Take note: Only books released in the U.S. between November 16, 2017, and November 15, 2018, can be considered.

Don't see your favorite book in a category? You can always write it in! But write-in votes will be considered only during the Opening Round!

Semifinal Round (November 6 to November 11): Here you'll choose a book from 20 nominees in each category. These books will be the 15 nominees from the Opening Round plus the top five write-ins.

Final Round (November 13 to November 26): The finish line is in sight! Once the competition has been whittled down in the Semifinal Round, you'll vote for one of the 10 top nominees in each category.

The winners are announced on December 4.

Introducing the "Best of the Best" Category!

Throughout 2018, we've kept track of the books our readers have loved most. We used this data to compile the 15 top-rated nominees across 20 categories, including Fiction, Mystery & Thriller, Young Adult Fiction, Romance, Fantasy, Nonfiction, and Debut.
To celebrate the Goodreads Choice Awards' tenth anniversary, we've added a special "Best of the Best" category. Here readers will pick the most beloved book among the 171 past winners from the last decade.

The Book Trends of 2018:

Every year, our reader-chosen nominees tell us what's currently trending in the book world. In 2018, we're seeing diverse and inclusive authors dominate across multiple categories, including Debut, Young Adult Fiction, Middle Grade, Picture Books, and Graphic Novels.

Women and female-empowered stories continue to persist and pave the way throughout this year's categories in Memoir, Fiction, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, and Mystery & Thriller.

Fairy tale and mythology-inspired retellings weave their spells in Fantasy and Young Adult Fantasy. Finally, Instagram poets are rising up and making their mark in the Poetry category.

You can discover even more fun book trends on the Goodreads Choice Awards page! Don't forget to tell the world about your favorite nominees this year by using #GoodreadsChoice on social media.

The choice is yours, dear readers. Cast your vote!
