As the year (finally) ticks over into what the optimistic might call an English 'summer', we're still indoors, reading, and it's all doom and gloom: the forests are dying, the birds are falling silent, and even democracy's on its way out. But Lucy's reading A Visit From the Goon Squad and Dan's enthusiasm for Vlautin is seriously catching, so, on balance, we're still good.
