Six More Weeks of Winter? Here Are Books to Read for Every Groundhog Day Forecast

Groundhog Day is here, readers! While there's not a lot of science involved in our tradition of letting a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil deliver a seasonal forecast (his predictions have been correct 39% of the time), we like to embrace reading inspiration where we can find it.

A brief refresher for anyone who's a little rusty on their weather lore: Based on a Pennsylvania Dutch superstition, if a groundhog emerges from his burrow and sees his shadow on February 2, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, spring will arrive early.

Whatever the outcome of Phil's big day, we've got you covered with highly rated book recommendations to last you through the long(er) winter or early spring. Add the ones that catch your eye to your Want to Read shelves.

If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow...

If Punxsutawney Phil doesn't see his shadow...

If Punxsutawney Phil refuses to come out of his burrow...

What books would you recommend for readers with groundhogs and/or seasons on the mind? Tell us in the comments!
